As a grand pursuer of adventure it was hardly a surprise that you chose to pursue this mystery. The mystery of the witch of the dark forest. The tales of the elders about the witch have suddenly started popping into your sauce.

Like the one about the little child who ran out of the forest and never returned. The elders claimed that the witch had taken them as a prisoner as a slave Others claimed that the child's soul was consumed by the witch to extend her life There were all sorts of tales and everyone had a different interpretation of what really happened. It made me more reluctant to believe any of it was real But Just as the elders mentioned the deep fog in the heart of the forest was blinding It was almost like a curse was affecting the place. You tried to see through the fog to the best of your ability But it was very difficult Your legs were tired, your body was tired You needed rest, but you couldn't stop. You felt That something was pulling you deeper into the forest as if you had no control over your body whatsoever.

Each step made it more difficult to see. Each step Made it so much more difficult to think clearly or think at all. You were starting to get worried But you could barely get a thought through. Were the elders speaking the truth? Is the forest really cursed?

Is the witch real? Is you are walking Helplessly unable to stop yourself from moving. With your body moving on its own, You heard some strange noises. A hiss like sound as sharp as a knife Piercing your ears. You are starting to fear for your safety.

These noises can't be animals, can they? Maybe those are snakes. No. Snake's hiss. But not like that.

This sound is much Scarier than the natural sound of a hissing snake. This thing, Whatever it is that produces the hissing sound is getting closer and louder. You can't stop moving. Your legs betray you. For a mere second, a rational thought gets through your head, begging you to turn back and run.

But no your legs are controlled by something or someone. Your vision is blurry. Your mind struggles to think. You want to scream, but your mouth remains shut. You have no control over yourself.

You can only pray that whatever it is that controls your movement Has some pity for lost souls such as yourself. You're so scared. You want someone to come in and stop this. You want to apologize to the elders for doubting them. You don't want to end like that little child did.

If they were real, that's all. Maybe this is all in your head. Maybe nothing controls you and you're merely dreaming. But reality matures here. You hear the hissing sound getting closer.

Your heartbeat is racing. You want to run. You don't want to die here or worse Have your soul consumed by the witch. The elders claim that it is a fate worse than death. Now you suddenly believe them.

Everything seems real and you wish you would have listened. But it is too late now. Your body and your mind both manipulated and deeper and deeper into the forest and you feel that whatever it is that is preying on you Is ever so close? And suddenly, the hissing stops. You feel your body stop.

You look around and see nothing As if the forest is gone. You see fog all around you. Are you saved? No. This is worse.

You hear an evil laughter coming from the direction behind you, but you're too afraid to look. Your heart sinks. What is going to happen to you? And then something taps your shoulder. You turn around in panic and see nothing behind you.

What the hell just tapped your shoulder? Was it your imagination? No. Couldn't be. It felt too real.

Suddenly, your eyes lost their vision. You couldn't see anything. It was blank and you felt your mind blinking as well. You couldn't even think anymore. You could only drop.

And you fell. You blacked out entirely. You could feel your mind drifting far away into oblivion. Your body well, who knows what is happening to it? Did the witch get you?

Maybe you will find out. Maybe you won't. Maybe you are already gone Or maybe this is all a dream and you're about to wake up. And suddenly, You feel a strong smell of herbs. Oh no, this can't be it.

You open your eyes slowly and you see what you fear the most. You are in a hut. You know exactly who the hut belongs to. You know and you are afraid. You want to get up and run, But your wrists are shackled.

Your ankles are not, however. But for some reason You can't move them. Is it magic? Could be. Anything is possible.

In spite of what you thought before, everything formerly unimaginable has now become a very likely possibility. Will your soul be consumed by the witch? Will she enslave you to her? Will she eat you alive? Her hut It's filled with herbs.

Their smell is awfully strong. And perhaps That smell might be affecting you because you no longer want to run. You become more accepting of staying of meeting that witch. No. Fight it.

She's messing with your mind You want to resist? But no. You can't resist. You fall deeper. Drop.

Resistance is futile. You have already lost. Will you at least get to say some final words? You can only hope you will be that lucky. Suddenly, you feel your eyes drawn to a dark corner.

Out of that dark corner, the infamous witch appears. She is faceless and yet she can speak. But you don't understand a word. Your body, however, understands everything. While your mind is blank and confused, Your body moves closer to the witch.

It is as if she pulls you towards her Some form of spell. You feel as if something is draining your body. Could it be? Oh no. Your soul is being sucked out of here.

You feel yourself going deeper with each passing second. Your soul is being taken. Your mind is consumed as well. Your body is completely controlled. And the hissing sound grows stronger again.

As your soul is being sucked, You feel as if your legs are moving on their own again. But how? Everything is dark. You can't see anything. But your body is moving.

You are running somewhere. Maybe it is a dream. Some form of escapism from what is happening to you by the hands of the witch. But the more you run the clearer your mind becomes. Surprisingly, You feel your body in some form of control once more.

Are you running with your eyes closed? Suddenly, you hit something and fall on your back. You open your eyes and realize that you have hit a tree. You must have been running for some time now. But The witch took your soul.

Did she not? Or did she spare you? You try to think, but you can't quite figure it out. Did you imagine the whole encounter? No impossible It felt so real You look around and the fog It's far behind you.

Are you on your way out of the dark forest? Your mind feels empty. You feel as if something in you has changed. You are not who you used to be. Or maybe you are.

You aren't sure. One thing is certain. Something happened. Was it your imagination playing tricks on you? Maybe you were hallucinating all along.

It would explain a lot. I mean witches aren't real, are they? You want to say yes, but there is some doubt in you now. No matter. You get up at your feet.

Your head is so heavy. Your body is tired, but you continue walking. Suddenly, the hissing sound starts again. You can hear it saying something. Something almost familiar like a whisper.

You look around you and you don't know what is real anymore. Are you out of the forest Or are you still in the witch's hut? With your soul consumed and your mind controlled. I guess you will never truly know. Your tale is over or is it merely just the start of it?
